A Touch of Paradise is locally owned and
operated by Jaclyn D. Parton. Jaclyn wanted to be able to help
others physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Massage was the
answer for her. She attended a massage school, Tennessee School of
Therapeutic Massage a.k.a. TSTM, in Knoxville and graduated in 2004.
 In order for her to receive her massage license,
she had to take and pass the National Certification Board for
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.So on April 10, 2004, the Saturday
before Easter, she had an appointment for 1:00 p.m. She had studied
for what seemed like forever. She was nervous because the exam was
timed and there was about 1 minute for each question. She had been
told that this exam would be extremely hard. So she went in and did
the best she could. She finished with 1 hour and 20 minutes
remaining. She thought she failed because she had so much time left,
however she PASSED. She was in a state of awe. The exam was not as
hard as everyone had told her it would be. The exam is broken down
into 4 categories. Three out of the four she scored High. Just one
out of the four was average.
So with the exam out of the way, she just waited
on the Health Board. Once she received her License in the mail, she
opened her very own small massage company. IT was officially opened
in June of 2004. She came up with the name because she wanted to use
the benefits from massage (Touch) to make people more relaxed have
more healthy benefits. To view these benefits you can go to the
Healthy Benefits page. The Paradise part is a dual meaning. The
first was when a person is totally relaxed they feel ink they are in
Paradise and the largest reason was when Jesus Christ was on the
cross and told the man "Be with me this day in Paradise."
Before she was a massage therapist, Jaclyn
attended Gatlinburg-Pittman High School and graduated in 2000. She
married right out of school to Michael Parton, a loving and
supportive husband, and they built their lives together. She knew
that she wanted to do something amazing with her life, she just did
not know at the time what that would be. So after working a few jobs
that were just "okay" but lacking in any sort of passion, she just
prayed that the Lord would show her something that she would be good
at as well as have passion for her job. One day she heard an
advertisement on the radio for massage school and thought that maybe
that would be something she could do. She had not told her husband
that she had been praying for an answer, when one night he
mentioned that her heard and advertisement on the radio for massage
school and for some reason thought of her. There was here answer. So
she went down to the school, TSTM, and when she got there it hit
her, this was it. And so now here she is, years later with her own
business.
